    Networking Access
Having debuted in 1987, the annual Automotive Outlook Conference is one of SAA’s most popular events. Held each January in Detroit in conjunction with the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the conference focuses on industry trends and their impact on the global automotive environment. Members receive special, reduced conference rates and a complimentary Analyst Pass to the auto show that gains them access to the show floor following the conference, plus access to Press Kits and the Michelin Media Center.

Networking Breakfasts debuted in 2003 with an overflow audience to hear Nick Scheele, COO at Ford Motor Company, give his take on the status on the automobile industry, and answer questions and concerns of SAA members. That was followed by events that included a book-signing and presentation by Micki Maynard, author of The End of Detroit, and a "BLACK BOX" breakfast meeting with a panel of five experts in the field of Vehicle Data Recorders. Since then, featured presenters have included Mitsubishi CEO Finbarr O'Neill, manufacturing guru Laurie Harbour-Felax, and import mogul Malcolm Bricklin. Five to seven similar meetings are planned each year, and are great opportunities for members to meet, network and interact with each another.

Volunteering on an SAA committee is another excellent way to network with peers. Volunteers are always needed to serve on our Web site, communications, membership, education and scholarship committees as well as SAA's Board of Directors.
